    : United States: Florida: Alachua County. Kanapaha Botanical Gardens; The Kanapaha Water Gardens; along the walkway near the bridge. Open sunny area with sandy soil, no ground cover. Clumping bamboo to ca. 40 feet tall with culms nearly touching to ca. 15 cm apart at ground level. New culm internodes covered with an easily removed white powder. Culm internodes to ca. 5 cm in diameter and to ca. 39 cm long, hollow and white inside. Culms branching from lower nodes on up, branches mostly horizontal to 1.4 meters long. Culm sheaths with erect blades, tardily deciduous. Lat. 29.61291N Long. 082.41041W Datum: WGS84. S21,T10S,R19E.
