    : [United States: Florida: Clay County. Collected on private property of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Taylor, in the backwoods behind their home at the corner of Anchor Dr. and Blanding Blvd; 2863 Blanding Blvd, Middleburg, FL. Sandhill area. Dominant overstory of Pinus palustris, Quercus laevis. Perennial plant with basal rosette of fibrous narrow linear leaves. Woody stem bearing fruit capsules ca. 10 ft. Ethnobotanical uses: leaves used to "string up" and hang meat to be smoked in a smokehouse.
