    : United States: Florida: Escambia County. 30 24.25'N 87 19.46' W western edge of Pensacola; 1 mile east of FL 173 on U.S. 98; in powerline right-of-way north of road (up to ca .3 mile) and in highly disturbed, cut-over, shrubby remnants immediately to east (with Cliftonia, Clethra, Ilex spp.). Wiregrass savannah-like area, with Lachnanthes, Lachnocaulon, Aristida beyrichiana, Rhexia spp., Sarracenia, Lycopodium, Ctenium, Ilex glabra, Hypericum spp., Xyris, Rhynchospora spp., Polygala lutea, P. cruciata. Shrub to ca 2.3 m tall; fruits brown.
