United States: Florida: Wakulla County. 30° 2.641'N 84° 28.041' W St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge; southeast of Sopchoppy; .5 mile east on U.S. 319, then just under .9 mile SE on C.R. 372, then .5 mile south on Buckhorn Creek Road (historic Polygala hookeri area - not found). Regularly burned mosaic of wet savannah, flatwoods, and cypress domes; with Pinus palustris, P. elliottii, Serenoa, Sarracenia, Lophiola, Ctenium, Aristida, Polygala spp., Lilium catesbei, Lycopodium, Clethra, Xyris. Abundant colonial shrub to 1.3 m tall, growing intermixed with Q. minima.
