    : United States: Florida: Hillsborough County. T27S-R22E-S34. Cone Ranch, ca. 6 mi. SSE of Zephyrhills, ca. 5 mi. N of Plant City, bordered on W by FL SR39 and on S by FL SR582 (Knights-Griffin Rd.). Freshwater marsh with Taxodium ascendens and Juncus effusus. Stoloniferous perennial w/ glabrous blades 6-18 mm wide. Glumes conspicuously nerved, second glume gibbous at base so spikelet base looks swollen on one side. Spikelets 3.5-5 mm long. (Looks like larger version of S. indica which is a cespitose annual w/ villous blades up to 5mm wide and spikelets 3 mm long.)
