    : United States: Florida: Alachua County. Paynes Prairie State Preserve. S of Gainesville. T11S, R20E, sect. 27, NE 1/4. 0.2-0.3 km from S Park boundary, 0.35-0.45 km from I-75. Beside 2 man-made waterholes, close to "borrow-pit". Ruderal, pine flatwoods. With Pinus taeda, Salix caroliniana, Myrica cerifera. Growing in matted carpet with Ludwigia arcuata in wet spongy substrate, brown organic-sandy soil. Spikelets and leaf bases reddish.
