    : United States: Florida: Alachua County. Paynes Prairie State Preserve. S of Gainesville. Levy Grant Lot 10, NE 1/4. Stafford Pond, E side, close to E-W fence line. Growing in wet ground at pond's edge, w/ Persea borbonia, Pinus elliottii, Liquidambar styraciflua, Nyssa sylvatica var. biflora, Itea virginica. Heads 8-9 mm wide, soft and spongy when pressed.
