    : United States: Florida: Alachua County. Paynes Prairie State Preserve. S of Gainesville. Levy Grant Lot 10 SW 1/4, close to boundary with Lot 9. 15 m S of junction of lap 3 and lap 4 of Horseback Trail, on lap 4. Wet pine flatwoods, with black-sandy organic soil; growing with Pinus taeda, P. serotina, Lyonia lucida. Low shrubs to 1.5 m tall; petioles 2-8 dm long. Flowers white.
