    : United States: Florida: Wakulla County. St. Mark's Wildlife Refuge: C. 2 mi. E of Lighthouse Rd. along Stony Bayou Dike in thickety sawgrass marsh with up to 6" of water with Cladium jamaicense, Myrica cerifera, Baccharis halimifolia, Spartina bakeri, Persea palustris, Acer rubrum tridens, Magnolia virginiana, Andropogon, Sabal etc.; elev. c. 25 ft; male & female plants, mostly latter, c. 2-3 m. tall. mostly 2 m., & stems to c. 1" D. at base, female plants beginning to leaf out.
