    : Costa Rica: Prov. Puntarenas. Monteverde, Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve (Reserva Bosque Nuboso de Monteverde), Lower Montane Rain Forest (Holdridge Classification). Elevation 1540-1620 meters. Pacific slope of Continental Divide. Road (70m from Visitor Center). Naturally occurring hybrid; shrub, flowers orangish red to rose red.
