    : Dominican Republic: Pedernales. Sierra de Bahoruco Mtns., ca. 40 km. from Cabo Rojo on the Alcoa Aluminum Road, ca. 3 km. NW of the end of the paved road (ca. 20 km. N of Pedernales). Elev. 1400-1500 m. Open windswept pine forest (Pinus occidentalis); red lateritic soil. Common terrestrial herb. Flowers with white corolla. No leaves at flowering.
