    : United States: Florida: Columbia County. Large population, perhaps several thousand plants, in shallow roadside ditch bordering wet hammock and mixed swamp with Taxodium distichum, Fraxinus profunda, Liquidambar styraciflua, Carpinus caroliniana, and Quercus laurifolia. Much evidence of rooting by hogs. Flowering season for Iris essentially finished; only one plant seen in flower. Osceola National Forest, Forest Service road 262, SW 1/4 sec 35, T1S, R18E.
