GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Museum of Natural History Associates Board is hosting “An Epoch Night at the Museum” Feb. 9 from 7:30 to 11 p.m.

An Epoch Night at the MuseumProceeds will help fund the museum’s education and public programs, with a focus on outreach to underserved communities. This year’s party features an “Infestation Tasting Station,” where guests may taste test a variety of insects, and photo ops with “Permian Monsters” in the museum’s current featured exhibit.

“The Florida Museum is a place we take our children, our out-of-town guests and ourselves to be inspired, to be educated and to be entertained,” said Barbara Smith Newmans, event chair and Museum Associates Board vice president. “It is a privilege to give back to an institution which contributes so much to our community.”

Event sponsors are invited to a special “Cambrian Cocktail Hour” at 6:30 p.m. to experience the “Butterfly Rainforest” exhibit under the stars before other guests arrive.

The evening provides an opportunity to explore the museum alongside curators, enjoy dinner provided by Taste’s Omi Elegant Catering and dance the night away with DJ Elio Piedra.

Individual tickets for non-reserved seating are $100. Sponsored tickets, which include the cocktail hour and other perks, are $250.
