Gary Sansone HeadshotGary picked up his interest in computer science early on, in the forms of low-level tinkering with computer hardware and software and playing and learning about video games. Along the path to choosing a field and college major, assisted by immersion in the natural world of north central Florida, he also developed a respect for natural sciences.

After receiving his degree in Digital Arts and Sciences from the University of Florida College of Engineering in 2019, Gary began temporary PC upgrade work with OMT, which initiated his connections within the museum. Aided by this foot in the door – and undergraduate research involving software development and virtual reality – he now splits his time between software development projects with OMT and VR work in the Florida Museum 3D Lab.

In his personal life, Gary is a passionate mountain biker and bike mechanic (believe it or not, mountain biking is big in Central Florida), outdoors explorer, scifi nerd, DIYer, and part-time house husband.
