The Department of Natural History had an outstanding year in 2015-2016 with 27 faculty overseeing about $65M in total external grant support for research and collection activities, including 59 new grants this fiscal year totaling $8.3M! This per-capita funding rate is extremely high, even for a research-intensive university like the University of Florida.
