Our Vertebrate Paleontology department is taking over the temporary exhibit in the ‘Rare, Beautiful & Fascinating: 100 Years @FloridaMuseum exhibit. We will be showcasing preparation of Montbrook Fossils and occasionally run a slideshow with pictures of all of us doing our thing at the dig site!

Details:
This is a FREE family-friendly event. Some other activities feature the teeth of Megalodon, the largest shark that ever lived. Visitors will be able to draw and describe 3D printouts of the fossilized teeth, help figure out where each tooth would have fit in a life-sized jaw, and estimate the real-life size of the entire shark. The exhibit will also highlight the contribution of volunteers and avocational paleontologists to the Florida Museum and provide a geological map of Florida where fossil collectors can mark favorite localities.
