Akito Y. Kawahara is an assistant professor and assistant curator of Lepidoptera at the McGuire Center. His duties include curating collections, conducting research, advising graduate students and teaching courses. He is a faculty member of the Florida Museum of Natural History, but also holds joint appointmentships through the Department of Biology, Department of Entomology and Nematology, and School of Natural Resources and Environment at UF.
