Established in 1991, Bach Ma National Park is located in central Vietnam near the city of Huế in Thua Thien Hue Province. Bach Ma and its surrounding buffer zone encompass an area of about 220 km2 [1]. The region is characterized by a monsoon rain climate and is dominated by tropical evergreen forests in the lowland areas [2], montane subtropical evergreen forests at elevations between 400 and 1450 m, and cloud forests above 1450 m to the highest point at 1712 m [2,3].

Bach Ma National Park and its buffer zone are known to be rich in biodiversity of both flora and fauna. The purpose of this project is to characterize the diversity of Lepidoptera in the park, specifically moth species.

Please see the links below to explore photographs of the live wildlife of Bach Ma, browse the Bach Ma moth specimens at the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity, and read scientific articles related to the flora and fauna of Bach Ma.
