I spent 2018-2020 at the National Science Foundation as a AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow.

My appointment in the NSF Directorate for Geosciences, Office of the Assistant Director, International Programs provided me with training in international, transdisciplinary team science.
My portfolio encompassed working with initiatives of the Belmont Forum, Future Earth, the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research and the US Global Change Research Program’s international activities. My work included collaborative research actions in topics going well beyond Geosciences: Arctic Sustainability; Oceans; Climate, Environment and Health; and Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience. I managed multiple programs simultaneously, organized and led multiple workshops, participated in operations for a large international conference.

I have also been supporting open data policies and implementation plans for projects. I have led training and also participated in professional development and leadership skill-building activities.
My responsibilities included grants planning and management; representation of the program within the scientific community; communication within and outside of the organization; and scientific and programmatic leadership.

I was also a co-chair for the AAAS Biodiversity Affinity Group.
