2022 Call for Applications

The 2022 award program is in support of undergraduate students to facilitate their work on museum-based internship projects to be initiated in Fall semester of 2022 and completed by December 31, 2022 (see list of potential projects, appended).

Internships are to be focused on experiential learning and mentorship in collections work, laboratory analysis, or fieldwork. Awards supporting up to 80 hours of work at $17.00/hr will be funded.

Eligibility:

Undergraduate students, including graduating seniors, enrolled at the University of Florida

Application deadline: July 15, 2022.

Award recipients will be announced in August 2022.

Awardee Agreement:

Successful Awardees will meet with their mentor, agree on project activities and work schedule. A progress report and summary, including project-related photos, will be due November 15 (Fall projects).

Application Procedure:

There are two tracks in applications—TRACK A: for students with no prior research or museum experience and TRACK B: for students with previous or ongoing experience and with a proposed project plan of their own. It is anticipated that awards will be made in both of these tracks.

You should review the Track A or Track B application templates for more information on the application content required. Once you have your information ready, click ‘Apply Here’. We only accept applications submitted via UF qualtrics. PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL YOUR APPLICATION.

If you have any questions about the application procedure, please email FLMNHDepartmentalDiversityCommittee@groups.mail.ufl.edu. Depending on your interests, we can recommend potential hosts to contact about potential projects.

TRACK A:

A letter of support from a mentor is not required (we will rely more heavily on your personal statement). You will have to indicate your desired project (up to 3) from the list provided. Review them carefully before starting your application.
