DESCRIPTION:Take an eight-legged walk on the wild side with Spiders Alive! This exciting exhibit dives into the world of spiders\, scorpions and their relatives with more than a dozen LIVE species from around the world on display. Discover the unique traits and characteristics of this diverse group of animals at this interactive\, family-friendly experience! \nSpiders Alive!\nExhibit Opens Jan. 28\, 2023 \nJoin us for a special member preview event for the Spiders Alive! exhibition! In her family-friendly talk\, arachnologist (scientist who studies spiders) Dr. Lisa Taylor will discuss the extravagant and brilliantly colored displays that animals such as jumping spiders use to attract\, impress\, and deceive each other. The goal of her work is to understand the selection pressures that drive the evolution and maintenance of these colors.
