DESCRIPTION:Discover the difference between reptiles and amphibians and what makes these animals so special at your local library! Debunk myths and learn more about the natural world with interactive activities. \nThis Science Surprises session is 45-minute long and perfect for elementary-aged learners. These sessions do not require pre-registration but do have limited capacity. \nMake a Thermometer\nDo you like reptiles and amphibians? Ever wonder why turtles or alligators like to lay around in the sun? We’ll be learning how these cold-blooded animals regulate their temperatures by making our own thermometers! \nWe begin each session with an interactive demonstration of a scientific concept\, followed by hands-on activities that can be taken home. \nThis program is supported by the Children’s Trust of Alachua County. \n \nFlorida Museum on the Go!\nOver the next year\, we’ll be bringing the Florida Museum to branches across the Alachua County Library District as well as many other places out on our community.
