Check out our table while you’re enjoying this popular Gainesville event. In honor of International Museum Day on May 18, we’re celebrating museum collections. From mammoth bones to butterfly specimens and Seminole artifacts, our collections are full of millions of cool objects. Come see some of these fascinating items and test your skills by matching the specimen with the right collection. Get creative and plan your own exhibit with a fun activity.

Bonus: Our pop-up museum will have a pop-up gift shop so you can browse select museum favorites!

It’s the 45th year for this vibrant Gainesville celebration! Look for the Florida Museum while you’re enjoying the festival’s art showcases and dance performances, grabbing a bite to eat from a variety of cuisines, browsing for vintage Florida memorabilia, moving to live music and meeting some of the many organizations working in our community.

Pop-up Museums

We’re heading out into the community to bring the Florida Museum to favorite spots around town while our public exhibits building is closed for the big expansion project. We’ll be visiting farmers markets, libraries and other local events around Alachua County. You never know where the next Museum pop-up will surprise you.
