DESCRIPTION:Come explore with Lepidopterist (scientist who studies butterflies and moths) Sarah Steele Cabrera from the Florida Museum’s Daniels Lab to learn the many wonders of the insect world and how scientists collect and study insects in the field. Investigate a diversity of live insects and their life cycles\, role as pollinators and learn the importance of museum collections. \nWe’re hosting weekend Family Discovery Camps this summer. Explore the natural world with scientists and Museum staff in this hands-on experience for the whole family. Discover how scientists work in the field and learn how to use the tools of science yourself. \nWear appropriate footwear and clothes that can get dirty or wet! We will be heading outdoors to explore the University of Florida Natural Area Teaching Laboratory.
