Augmented Reality Mammoth

Step into augmented reality at the Florida Museum! You’ll see yourself on a six-by-nine-foot screen, walking with animations of a Columbian mammoth and her baby, an American alligator and a saber-toothed cat. These ancient creatures lived here, in what is now Florida, over 10,000 years ago, during the last ice age.

Compare the mammoth on screen to the iconic mammoth skeleton standing just a few feet away. The skeletons of many other fossil animals are on display in the Florida Fossils permanent exhibition.
