Monitoring of Coastal Ecosystems Internship

Position description

 The UF Center for Coastal Solutions is looking for an enthusiastic student to join the center this summer in a field campaign in the waters of Tyndall Airforce Base (Panama City, FL). The aim of this field campaign is to monitor the submerged vegetation communities in four living shoreline project areas located in Tyndall AFB, between May to mid-August 2023. Most of the fieldwork will be seagrass monitoring using snorkel and scuba, but also some monitoring on marsh and dune

Qualifications

  • Experience snorkeling and diving – scientific scuba certificate
  • Ability to work outdoors in Florida summer
  • Ability to stay in Tyndall (housing provided)
  • previous fieldwork experience desirable
