On a recent visit to a Broward County classroom coordinated by SEFS, scientist Tracie Baker and Everglades adventurer Harvey Oyer took students on an expedition through the Everglades to help them understand the threats facing this important ecosystem. Students also learned about the scientific tools used in Baker’s fieldwork.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you for your time, grace, and patience in sharing the details of your fascinating expedition with the students at Central Park ES,” said Central Park Elementary teacher Monika Moorman.

“You kept their interest the entire time, and they wouldn’t stop talking about the expedition after we finished our session. Thank you all for making today special for my students. I already heard from a couple of parents saying that their kids would not stop talking about the virtual session after being picked up.”
