Description
On October 27th, 2024, there will be a dynamic event in Alachua County that merges climate action, environmental justice, and civic engagement through the CLEO Speakers Network (CSN).
Caroline, who is also a PhD candidate at the University of Florida, will lead the participants in a hands-on citizen science project during the event, offering practical experience in contributing to climate and environmental research. Speakers also include Desmon Duncan Walker, District I Commissioner, City of Gainesville and Mary Alford, Chair – District I, Alachua County Commission.
What You’ll Gain
Participants will receive comprehensive training on climate science, strategies for advocating for environmental justice, and tools to engage in civic participation. By the end of the program, they will be certified as CLEO Climate Speakers, equipped to lead their communities in the fight for a sustainable future.
