pinilla headshotAngie Pinilla is a senior from Miami, Florida, studying anthropology. Through this Fellowship, Pinilla is interested in learning more about how climate change is impacting the health of individuals in different communities, plastic pollution, environmental justice and water and food safety. In her professional life, she hopes to attend medical school to become a pediatrician. Pinilla hopes to open up her own clinic and provide free services to individuals who don’t have access to health care.

In her free time, she enjoys finding new trails where she can walk her golden retrievers, going to secondhand bookstores to find new books to read, making puzzles and going on runs.

“What most excites me about this fellowship is becoming more knowledgeable on different environmental issues and learning the proper ways to implement long-lasting solutions across communities. I also look forward to working with other fellows and discovering how our individual knowledge and experiences can be used to create change.”
